Stray formed in London in 1966, the brainchild of four schoolmates from Christopher Wren School: guitarist Del Bromham, vocalist Steve Gadd, bassist Gary Giles, and drummer Steve Crutchley. Though Crutchley was quickly replaced by Ritchie Cole, the core of Bromham and Gadd remained the heart of the band’s sound.
