Acronis True Image 2025 Release Notes -
Traditional immutable backups require cloud storage. With the 2025 release, Acronis introduces hardware-agnostic immutability for local USB/NVMe drives. Using a patented blockchain timestamping engine, the Quantum Resilient Vault prevents any modification, encryption, or deletion of backup chains for a user-defined period (1 to 90 days). Even with root/admin privileges, ransomware cannot touch these vaults.

Acronis True Image 2025 closes six critical vulnerabilities discovered in version 2024:
Previous versions scanned files during backup creation. Version 2025 scans every sector during the restore process. If the restored image contains a dormant rootkit or an undetected cryptojacker, RASI quarantines the malicious code before writing it to the target disk. This effectively turns every restore into a disinfection event.
